Went through Amazon and they said the toy was purchased through their 2nd party vendor Outside the Toy Box. I ordered my nephew's present in November for Christmas and he NEVER got it and I never got notice that it would not be sent nor did I get a refund. I don't see it on the request list, but this number for Cox Technical Support (e.g. internet connectivity problems) goes straight to a person. No automated system and no numbers to press. 1-800-234-3993. Enjoy!

You should consider adding JC Penney stores to your list. I have received horrible service from them, even after going through their managers. I have spent months on the telephone trying to get a problem solved with their custom decorating department, which is a leased service that Pennys provides to customers in their stores. I would not recommend that anyone use their custom decorating department.

This wedding site is a scam. My mom and I ordered close to $500 worth of favors and they refuse to return calls and if you end up getting a person they tell you to send an email because that is the best way to get someone. Anyone happen to know a cheat code to get past all the prompts to speak directly to a human at Care Credit? 5 courses of prompts requesting about 2 dozen input numbers each in my book is ridiculous. I had luck by doing nothing...letting them think I have a dial phone. Actually, this technique recommend by GH works 90% of the time.

When I call any company, and I don't know how to get around the messaging system, if it's a system that you absolutely can't get around I always respond as a new customer with no account information. That often gets me where I want to go.

I called 800-GOOG-411, told them the city was Des Moines and that I was looking for MediaCom. The 1st listing was for MediaCom on 2205 Ingersal Ave. and the number was 515-246-1555. They then connected me at no cost.

Add TALX company, employee line 1 800 367 2884. Do not "PRESS OR SAY" anything; I was directly connected to an agent in about 3-4 minutes. This would probably also work for the Employer line, 1 800 367 5690. Great agent; good experience--if you don't go through the menus.

has amazon gotten so smug and complacent that they no longer feel the need to provide callers to customer service with domestic(=USA)call-center operators?I've had occasions when I called thinking my question could only be best answered by a stateside USA operator---only to be connected to somebody in India or the Phillipines.On each of those occasions, I ask to be transferred to a USA call center(or given the "secret" direct telephone no.)only to be given the NO CAN DO response.Their standard response has been that Amazon customer response calls are randomly routed, and there is no assured, guaranteed way of connecting with a USA call center short of dumb luck.This has been especially infuriating to me whenever I've posted feedback responses to them and never got an email reply--AND THEN COULDN'T REACH THEM WHEN TRYYYING TO CALL!!!

When I call these numbers from Massachusetts I get routed directly to Verizon customer service. I'd suspect that they will only connect to Fairpoint in Northern NE where they have acquired the customers from Verizon. In order for me to add these, you will have to provide me with the instructions re how to get to a human. If you do that, I'd be glad to add Fairpoint Comms to the gh database.

I cannot get a hold of a person at chex systems. The number on their site is to request a report of why they reported you. When you get the report, the number they give you gives you an option of speaking to a person, you wait on hold and then after 30 minutes or so it rings like you're being connected and it hangs up.

Can you find & add a shortcut for getting to a human at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (800-321-3497)? They have at least 5 minutes worth of required prompts and recorded messages/options that are totally irrelevant to someone just looking to find out what happened to their claim before they even put you in a queue for a human (at which point you may spend another 5-10 minutes waiting). Pressing 0 at any of these steps doesn't work. Thanks.

Zappos shoes is pretty easy, but should be on the list. Press 1 at the first prompt, and you get someone. That's for sales, not sure about the other prompts, but knowing their service, they also probably get you humans.

Public Storage: 1. Calling a local 'store' gives a series of voicemail menus, eventually ending at the national office. I would like to know how to get through directly to the local place. (examples in Maryland: 301-670-1893 in Gaithersburg, 301-972-1163 in Germantown, 301-948-3350 in Rockville, 301-424-2640 at another location in Rockville, etc.)
2. The national customer service person says that all questions and complaints are directed to local district managers, even if they are the problem. Is there a corporate number (Corporate Relations or something) that will reach a person who will listen like a human and use his brain, and who can overrule the district manager?

What about OCWEN mortgage co? They're terrible! Not only does it take days to get in touch w/ a human, but when you do, they speak Indian! Indian! The csr reps know nothing, they don't even bother transferring you to anyone, because no one has any answers. Their headquartered in West Palm Beach though, so we can "visit" them in person if needed. They love that!

This is also a priority queue, so you will be bumped to the front of the line, allowing your call to be answered before all other callers. You will access the priority queue by saying a keyword. To ensure short wait times please don’t share this keyword with those outside of your business.
How to use it:
When you call into 866-STUBHUB, after you hear the buzzer and our “StubHub” announcement, simply say “LargeSeller” and you will be sent to this new support team. Please note that our original customer support queue still exists, so if you do not hear the buzzer and “StubHub” announcement, simply use your key pad to select LargeSeller as usual and you will been sent to this same experienced customer support team.

On your UK listing for Abbey ( Abbey National) you have 08459 724 724. That is their main number and gets you a human being as you say usually in India. 08459 numbers are national rate charged calls
If you dial 0800 731 7774 or 0800 587 2758 it takes you to the same place and a human being more often in the UK rather than India, (which most in the UK prefer) but is free call 0800 number so costs nothing. I haven't paid for a phone call to Abbey in years!

I came across this entry and had to respond. My room mate has had some terrible credit problems after a long illness and hospital stay. Need I say that numerous collection agencies have been harassing her day and night! But there was one Shining Light! The Economic Recovery Systems company. Although this company had a collection account to collect, they really went out of their way to help my room mate with her debt problems. No harassment or belittlement; they were Professional and affective! The worked with my room mate and gave her the data she needed in which to find help. I'm pleased to say that my room mate is just about debt free thanks to Economic Recovery Systems which asked for No Payment for their help! I suspect their way of doing business get results that gets their clients debts paid first. We very much thank the folks at Economic Recovery Systems. Glad to have run across this blog entry.

1) Please add entry for Harland Clarke / Checks Connect (the people who print up checks) 1-800-643-5737 and 1-800-HARLAND seem to respond to repeatedly pushing the asterisk (*) key when prompted for your checking account number.
2) Actually the Gethuman request page might be a bit clearer... possibly a sentence that says, "Hey, push this link here to request a new entry." I'm kinda assuming that adding this comment is how I make the request...
